A great casebook.
Farnsworth's love of human trivia makes this case book far more compelling than most. It is a captivating introduction to the subject.

Castle Fear (Hardy Boys Casefiles, No 44)
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (May, 1991)
Authors: Franklin W. Dixon and Ann Greenberg
Average review score:

A perfect medevial setting.
This is probably my favorite book by Franklin Dixon. The book is a complete hoot, except for the lack of murders. That would have kept you up the whole night until you finish Castle Fear, which takes place in London. Jillian Seabright disappears and along with her perhaps, maybe?, the emeralds belonging to heiress Emily Cornwall, who has also disappeared. I'm not telling why, that you'll have to find out yourself. Jed Shannon has got Frank and Joe looking for Jill when he also disappear. Searching for answers, Joe gets involved with an American reporter. That's as much as I'm going to tell you so read the book yourself.

Up to par
While this book may not have been up to the caliber of some ofthe other books, it is still a very worthwhile read. The part inside the castle is best. The only way this could have been better really is if a murder had taken place. Oh well.

The Cesspool
Published in Paperback by 1stBooks Library (January, 2001)
Author: Franklin D. Vipperman
Average review score:

The Cesspool
Overwhelming. Enlightening. The writer has opened my eyes and mind to the truth about the legal system. He proved every charge he made with documentation, photograph, and court records. He further caught the corrupt parole board making known to them to be false statements and facts and got it all down on tape. Shocking, powerful, truthful.

A stark, gripping criticism of American Justice!
I was privileged to be able to read an advance copy of The Cesspool, which is the sequel to Vipperman's first book (The Deal Makers). The writing is rough, but those who read the first book MUST read this one. In The Cesspool, Vipperman recounts the "what happened next," and tells about many things that happened during his unjust incarceration in a federal prison in the state of Nevada. This part of the book alone is worth reading; however, the story of his fight to exonerate himself for a crime he didn't commit will make you want to cheer! Like the first book, Vipperman has made some harsh claims, but has backed up every claim with clear, factual evidence. Be prepared to be shocked (as I was), but also be prepared to change forever your attitude about "the way things are."

A Chaplain Remembers Vietnam
Published in Paperback by Truman Publishing Company (July, 2002)
Authors: Colonel Samuel W., Jr., Ph.D. Hopkins, Samuel W. Hopkins, Franklin D. Rast, and Sam Hopkins
Average review score:

Good True Story and Photos
The story and photos tell a very interesting view of going off to war. I had no ideal Chaplains had to do so much. I am using the book for a class report---the details and pictures of the Vietnam war from his perspective are highly recommended. Well written. My thanks to all the Chaplains in our country's service.

Excellently Written and Pictorial Vietnam War Narrative
An honest, ground-level, and poignant true story of an Army chaplain, Colonel Sam Hopkins, who served with one of the most highly decorated units of the Vietnam war---4th Battalion, 60th Artillery (Dusters). This plainspoken book is highly recommended because it contains none of the vulgarism, horrors, and often John Wayne bravado depicted in many war narratives. Armed with only a Bible and Kodak Instamatic camera, Hopkins takes the reader on a somber, yet at times humerous, journey into the Vietnam war and the lives of the young American soldiers who fought there; faithfully reminding them time and again, that their frail lives belonged to a higher authority---to "Supreme Six," the Army's slang for God. His feelings, doubts, and fears, before, during, and after the war so clearly presented give this book an unequivocal place in Vietnam war literature.

College Physics
Published in Paperback by Saunders College Publishing (November, 1997)
Authors: Dietrich Schroeer, Franklin D. Miller, and Robert W. Stanley
Average review score:

So Impressive Book!
This book will help you who want to study physics by yourselves so much. You can be familiar with physics as you answer many questions in the book. As the author said, to understand physics well, you should not just read the book but use it(that is, answer questions many times!).

Very helpful
I found the methods of explaining problems in this book to be clear, concise and very helpful. Though this is more or less the basics of physics, it would be useful to any senior in an advanced level physics class.

Crusade of the Flaming Sword (The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories, No 131)

The Flaming Sword Makes a Point
In this Hardy Boys book the super-sleuths track down a sabatuer who claims to be a black knight with a flaming sword. They encouter many threats and dangers along the way. This book is so full of suspence that I couldn't sleep for the next two "knights". It is a must read for all mystery lovers.

I thought that it was entertaining.
I thought it was suspenceful. It kept Me on the edge of my seat. My favorite part was when the Hardys were about to be cut in have by the pendelum.

Death So Noble: Memory, Meaning, and the First World War
Published in Hardcover by Univ of British Columbia (March, 1997)
Author: Jonathan Franklin Willia Vance
Average review score:

instructive and enlightening
Extremely well written and filled to the brim with usefull information concerning the War and all that you always wanted to know (and more). Black and white photographs and a bibiography help anyone wanting to learn more.

Excellent analysis of post-WWI Canadian experience
Vance's examination of post-WWI Canadian experience, and the role of religious and spiritual beliefs in endorsing the trauma of the Great War, is first class. An interesting book to contrast with that other classic, Fussell, The Great War and Modern Memory, but Vance is a better examination of the Great War from a Canadian perspective. Highly recommended for military historians and enthusiasts looking for a fresh perspective on the impact of the Great War on society.

The Demon's Den
Published in Hardcover by Wanderer Books (January, 1984)
Author: Franklin W. Dixon
Average review score:

Best Ever!
I thought that this book wouldn't be as good as "Mystery Of Smugglers' Cove. But I was definitely wrong! "The Demon's Den" has some surprising text, teriffic, never-ending action, and the plot was totally freaky. Demons, superhumans, Old Sam, and so on. You just can't miss this one!

Thrilling book, written in an unexpected way
I think that this just about beats Mystery of Smugglers' Cove. Matter of fact, it does. Sometimes in the book there's some scary (but not bad) language. It's surprising how Franklin Dixon got this idea for this sort of writing in the book. It's also a great book on genetic engineering and science. It's amazing about Rhee doing his tricks, and the action is normal, but wonderfully done. So take the time to read this book, and you won't think there's any better Hardy Boys book (and it's true, you'll believe me). Bon Reading it! (Enjoy reading it)!

A Diminished President: FDR in 1944
Published in Hardcover by Pentland Press, Inc. (01 February, 2003)
Author: Matthew B. Wills
Average review score:

A Cover-up That Likely Influenced World Events
FDR died in 1945. Immediately thereafter, his medical records disappeared from the Navy files, never to surface again. Admiral Ross T. McIntire, FDR's personal physician for twelve years continuously denied FDR's health problems and, in fact, wrote a book in 1945 assuring the public that the President never had any serious heart condition. He clearly withheld information about FDR's health and, thereby, misled the American people. The truth came out in 1970. The evidence of secrecy and cover-up is there for all to see. FDR was a sick man for years, and, particularly, in 1944, when he attended the Teheran Conference. He did not fully consult with Churchill and did not stand up to Stalin's demands. Fifty-eight years after the fact we learn how the irresponsibility of one man, Admiral McIntire, likely influenced the aftermath of World War II. Mr. Wills leaves us to speculate how many lives would be different today and what ways these lives could be different. Could a cover-up of this magnitude happen again?
Mr. Wills has written an engaging history full of drama building to an inescapable conclusion that in 1944-1945 FDR was a very sick man who was not able to reprsent the ideals of the American people to the best of his ability. It is authoritative and well documented. A DIMIMISHED PRESIDENT, FDR IN 1944 is highly recommended.

Couldn't Put It Down
Matthew Wills' book "A Diminished President - FDR In 1944" is outstanding. It is well researched and documented and brings to light little-known facts that clearly demonstrate that President Roosevelt was, in fact, a diminished President during the last months of his life. This may have led to some fateful decisions and actions that impact our Country even today. While the book presents many historical facts, Will's style is crisp and reads like a mystery novel. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. All who are interested in this period of our history must read this book; and, those who have not had any earlier interest could be highly enlightened and entertained. I heartily recommend the book.

End-Times News: EU Final World Empire
Published in Paperback by Hearthstone Pub (April, 2002)
Author: Alan Franklin
Average review score:

Alan Franklin Exposes Plans For World Government
Alan Franklin has been a professional journalist for 38 years (at the time of writing this book in 2002). He has followed the development of the European Union, collecting information from many sources, and has presented a chilling account of its real aims and objectives, which go far beyond what is usually presented in the media.

Any serious observer of the European Union will already be aware that the supposed community of trading nations that Britain joined in 1973, when Edward Heath was Prime Minister, was just an illusion. We were misled about its true intentions, and now we see it turning into a Superstate, with a single currency, a combined police force called Europol, and a European Army. However, Alan warns us that the real objectives of the EU go further than we have yet seen. It has systematically pursued a globalistic agenda since its foundation in the Treaty of Rome in 1957, so that the present European Union is just an intermediate stage in the move towards a future World Government.

The United Nations is in on the act, and in September 2000 they sponsored a Millennium Conference in New York where they laid down plans about how the world would be divided up, for the purpose of elections to the World Government. They produced a document called "How World Government will Work" stating that "Earth is divided into 1000 districts, 20 regions, ten magna regions and at least five continental divisions."

Alan also draws attention to various historical, mythological and religious aspirations of the European Union:

(1) They produced a poster depicting the Tower of Babel being rebuilt, with the caption "Europe: Many Tongues, One Voice". Then they opened a new Parliament building in Strasbourg, clearly designed to look like an unfinished Tower of Babel.

(2) The image of Europa riding the beast appears on coins, paintings and sculptures. She can be compared with the apocalyptic figure of Revelation 17, in the New Testament.

(3) The twelve stars of the European Union flag represent the twelve stars of the Madonna, indicating that Roman Catholicism is the recognised religion of the European Superstate.

Alan points out that the move toward globalism will eventually lead to the emergence of a future world dictator, with both political and religious authority - the Antichrist of Biblical end-time prophecy.

This book is a well-researched and verifiable account of important political facts that have been largely hidden from us. It is also a realistic assessment of what might become of the European Union as it moves forward relentlessly with its global agenda.

Alan Franklin Presents The Final World Empire!
In this 224 page book, Alan Franklin, presents indisputable evidence that the European Union is the final world empire. He presents fact after fact in a style easily understood. Franklin shows his journalistic background with this well documented tome. This is a must read for any student of end-times, those interested in Christian prophecy, and for those who simply are interested in facts about the happenings in Europe. I have met Mr. Franklin and have had the distinct pleasure of private conversation with this astutue chronicler of the often misunderstood European Union. I have also had the opportunity to sit in a number of Mr. Franklin's lectures and have found his public presentation to be as engaging as his writing style. I highly recommend this volume for your edification.
